Welcome to The Vines Hospital
——————————————————————————–
It is our goal at The Vines Hospital to provide the highest quality care to you in a timely manner while treating you with the dignity and respect you deserve. Our Assessment & Referral Department’s job is to treat all individuals according to their medical and/or psychiatric needs. At times, certain individuals may be seen first as result of their medical needs. Please be patient and a staff member will attend to you as quickly as possible.
- Assessment Process
You will be assessed shortly after you arrive to ensure you are medically stable enough to be treated at The Vines. We will take your vital signs and be asked to provide a urine sample. At that time you will be asked to remove all items from your pockets and give any medications to the nurse. Your belongings will be placed in a secure area and you will be scanned with a metal detector. This is all done in order to provide the safest environment for you and any other individuals in the assessment area.
- Body/Skin Assessment
Prior to leaving the assessment area your belongings will be thoroughly checked and inventoried by a trained staff member. Additionally the nurse will conduct a non-invasive skin/body assessment to ensure there is no contraband on you, as well as to document the presence of any bruises, cut and/or other injuries. It is our goal to maintain everyone’s dignity and conduct this examination with the utmost privacy and respect.
- Confidentiality
Behavioral Health Services are confidential. We will not share any information you provide to us without your written consent. Under Florida law, we are required to report if you tell us you are planning to harm someone or if a child, or vulnerable adult, is being abused.
